How do I make our family tree and include illegitimate child?

Posted by admin On January - 29 - 2010

I would like to include this child on my family tree and include the name of her mother. My brother is the child’s father and he also has children with his wife. It’s not a family secret or anything like that. What is the proper way to do this on our family tree?

If you are using a genealogy program, like PAF (free) or Family Tree Maker ($39 and up) or Roots Magic ($29) you can just add the lady in question and the child, without a marriage fact. If you are doing family group sheets with a pencil, you will have two, one for your brother and his wife and their children, one for your brother, the woman and their child.

I’d reccomend PAF. It (and all other genealogy programs) are to genealogy what "Word" is to writing a novel; they beat paper and pencil handsd down.

How does ethics relate to the collapse of Enron?

Posted by admin On January - 29 - 2010

im learning about business ethics, code of ethics, and stuff like that in school and i need to talk about ethics and how it relates to the collapse of Enron. If anybody can help me I would really appreciate it! thank you.

Business Ethics is creating long term shareholder value while appropriately distributing justice (mainly financial) amongst stakeholders.

Enron destroyed long term shareholder value a number of ways:

1) defrauded the shareholders by creating special purpose entities where profits could be illicitly recorded even though they were not realized and were not technically in accordance with Accounting standards.
2) defrauded other stakeholders (creditors and employees) by making promises which relied on information they already knew was false

Thats a brief synopsis, but you can look at the detail of the partnerships, the manipualtion of debt and recording of non-existent profits through further reserach

Sometimes when individuals, particularly Christians, are having problems, it is often regarded as spiritual warfare-something intended to make them a better person. However, sometimes it seems like psychological warfare. For example, a letter that should reach in X days has taken more than a month; and its content is needed urgently by the recipient. How does the person benefit spiritually if the letter contains money but because of the delay in arriving the person is hungry, develops headaches, gas and other health problems? Other Christians not in the situation talk about having faith; but faith does not put gasoline in the car nor food on the table nor stop a rumbling belly.

Spiritual warfare is a subset of psychological warfare. It’s an internal battle within your brain which you have chosen, consciously or subconsciously, to frame in spiritual terms. Which terms you use will depend upon your spiritual beliefs. But the same battle could be fought in secular terms as well.

The book of Job tells of god killing innocents and torturing people to make a point to satan. The bible sees it as spiritual warfare but, in reality, if it happened, it is the story of a man who suffered various calamities for various reasons, none of which had anything to do with a bet between god and satan. Sometimes life deals you a winning hand and sometimes life deals you garbage. The former isn’t the result of your faith (wheter it is in god, luck, the stars, or magick) and the latter isn’t a result of your lack of faith.

The idea of the Internet millionaire is one that pervades society’s conceptions of working at home and creating money from the Internet. The thing that makes this all the more appealing and intriguing is the tale of Mark Zuckerberg, inventor of Facebook, who has made $700 million from his generation.

Obviously, not everyone aspires to create a super website and become a billionaire overnight, like Zuckerberg, but this shows that there is much to be gained from working the Internet. To make things more entrancing, we may make money from the Internet in the comfort of our own homes.

After a little time and getting used to, the Internet becomes a comfortable meditation space for largest people. Moreover, the view of making money from the comfort of one’s home is easily appealing to numerous. Then again, the better important factor in the growth of this industry is the fact that it is very, very profitable, and not just in a financial understanding.

Humans could’t just create a concern plan out of thin air. First, there must be a sufficient study of the market. There must be folk out there who are likely to pop in your website. Then again, there is always the option of targeting a well-famous niche market, but that is a much riskier move and may be avoided with a little research.

There are free websites every one of over the Internet that contain market demographics and psychographics that may help the Internet entrepreneur make important marketing decisions. There are also places that ask for payment for data, but if one can make a multi-million dollar website out of it, then it is one can assume worth the comparatively mini investment.

It is also agreeable to go around and ask populace by yourself. After every one of, personal judgment is the ideal way to judge a market.

The matter of finding finance is an easy one. A website is not expensive to host and only requires a domain label and web space to get going. The entrepreneur could just forgo ordering pizza for a month and be able to make a initiate-up web site.

While the site maintenance is significantly harder than beginning the site itself, there are scarcely any advertising options that can give a steady revenue flow to the web site. A prominent one is Google ads, which basically dominate the world of forums. One must be careful, in spite of, in choosing ads, because at times they could make or break the clients’ perception of the web-site. Web designers show to make sure that the advertisements cater to the target market.

It should not be too difficult to create or market a website, whether or not one has prior experience. One may easily hire a web designer to fix any bugs or broken links that might occur. Compared to the potential revenue one may be creating, the fee for hiring programmers or web designers could be regarded minor.

On the marketing side, one must obtain a good network of settings that are frequently visited by one’s target market. The advertising must be riveting, but not obnoxious. Folk tend to shy away from areas that spam too much, and the responsibility of the web entrepreneur is to make abiding that fine store ethics are followed.

It is approximately easy to open a website. Yet, the web entrepreneur must be willing to look over his site in order to uphold ethics, reputable advertisements, and ultimately superb service for the visitors. The web-site must also be able to evolve as times change, and that is still within the scope of the entrepreneur’s responsibilities. The web positively presents a new challenge to both experienced and inexperienced workers and businessmen.

The Wisdom Within Depression: A Spiritual View

Posted by admin On January - 29 - 2010

If it can be said that there is wisdom to be gained through hardship or suffering that we would not freely choose, then it can also be said that there is deep learning and truth to be gained through the experience of depression in all its many forms . As with all experiences that are painful and that create limitation, the deeper self or soul can bring out of this, something valuable for the heart and for the spirit. Though this may not immediately be apparent to the self in the midst of pain, grief, or sorrow, what has limitation on the one side, offers the possibility for learning and for greater life on the other.

This paradox is hard for the human self to grasp, because the human response to suffering is to want it to end, and the human heart cannot help but believe that what feels bad – what deprives it of joy, love, meaning, hope, and energy – cannot be the source of something good. However, the perceptions of the soul and the choices that the soul makes during a time of pain or limitation are invisible, and everything depends upon the choices that are made.

For example, it is possible, as a result of feeling disconnected from joy or meaning in life, to begin to seek that joy with a fuller heart, to value life more, to hope for the possibility of experiencing one clear and pure sunlit day without the cloud of sorrow on the mind or in the heart. It is possible in the presence of aloneness or isolation to feel the heart longing more for love and connection. And it is possible to feel, in the presence of the wish to die, an even greater wish to live. These are the choices of the soul. In fact, they are more ‘orientations’ than choices and they turn the inner self in the direction of pursuing the fulfillment that is needed and toward new possibilities for growth. In this sense, though depression may be a ‘dark night of the soul’ which we would not choose and in which it may appear that every light has gone out, the soul, within its own domain, continues to support the seeking of that light and continues to radiate light toward the self that suffers and struggles. For this reason, it would be well to look at all forms of depression as a spiritual crisis in its underpinnings, for although no positive movement may be visible on the mental or emotional levels, on the level of spirit and soul a question is being asked and a question is being answered all of the time, namely, ‘what is this life about, what is its value, and what am I doing in it’?

Whether flooded with feelings, or numb and experiencing merely a sense of deadness, on the level of the soul a groping movement is taking place during this dark and painful night – a search for a way toward the light that is, for the moment, invisible. In the blackness, there is a sharpening of vision as one seeks the promise of the light, and pursues the elusive hope of an end to darkness. Even on the conscious level, where everything may feel quite bleak, there is often a reaching out toward that which may have seemed impossibly far away before, namely, to the awareness, however tentative, of our Divine and holy self, the center of our spiritual being.

For those for whom the higher self or soul remains a hypothesis rather than a reality, this type of understanding may seem invented. However, this, too, is a choice that the inner self must make – whether to adhere to a perspective which emphasizes indifference, loss, randomness, deprivation, and lack in life, or to believe that at all times there is a purpose behind the manifestation of what life brings to us, and that this purpose, when found, can become the springboard to a new and more vital sense of ourselves and of life.

Rudolph – The Island of Misfit Toys

Posted by admin On January - 28 - 2010

Rudolph made his television debut on NBC in 1964, when Rankin/Bass produced a stop motion animated TV special of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer that became a popular hit in itself. This version was re-broadcast annually many times over the years, even after it was finally released on video and then DVD.

It now airs several times during the Christmas season (on CBS rather than NBC), making it the longest-running TV special in terms of consecutive years. A small bit of trivia regarding the 1964 production, the Roman Numeral Date given at the beginning of the show is in error, missing the second “M”, (MCLXIV) which equates to the year 1164. It should have read MCMLXIV to be correct.

In 1976, a sequel to the Rankin-Bass original special was produced, entitled Rudolph’s Shiny New Year, and then a third in 1979 entitled Rudolph and Frosty’s Christmas in July. Then in 2001, a fourth in the series was released titled Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys.

We are taking are family of 7 to Cedar Point for hallo weekend soon. What can we expect? We have been there in the summer before but never during this time. Any tips during this time? What if we decide to stay the night once we are there? Any decent lodging for a family size this big near by? Is it crowded? Is it similar to the regular times during cedar point? Is it better?

There are lots of haunted houses open at Cedar Point around 8:00 PM. A Saturday is more crowded then on Sunday. Saturday has about 1-2 hour lines for Dragster Millenium and Maverick. On a Sunday the lines for Dragster are sometimes 15 min. Millenium 1/2 hour. And Maverick is about 45 min-1 hour. If you want to go in the haunted houses I suggest you go on a Saturday because the houses aren’t open on a Sunday. If you are only going to ride the rides you should go on a Sunday. The hours of the park on Saturday are from 12:00 PM-12:00 AM. On Sunday the hours go from 10:00 AM-8:00 PM. If you want to stay in a hotel right next to the park there is the Breakers hotel and then there is the sandcastle hotel. The sandcastle costs less than the breakers.
HAVE FUN!!!!!
